The Shortest Route
Combinatorics / Lattice Paths - 4-6 min
On an unobstructed square grid, your destination is four steps right and three steps up from your starting point. A shortest route uses exactly those four right moves and three up moves, in any order. How many distinct shortest routes are there?
Assumptions
There are no blocked streets. Every step has the same length. Routes are distinct when their ordered sequences of moves differ.
