What Is Saved and Where?
- Account progress: practice history, game results and Modulo scratchpad notes save to your account online. Check the saving status in Your Account.
- Guest play: progress stays in page memory and is lost when you refresh or close the page.
- Editorial work: authorised editors save private drafts through Cloud Workspace. Unsaved work in the standalone editor is temporary.
- Interface preferences: reading mode, selected editions and keyboard visibility last for the open page.
Cookies and Remembered Sign-In
This website uses Firebase browser storage to remember Google sign-in and a separate online database for saved account data; it does not set its own HTTP cookies.
Google sign-in starts when you choose it. On a later visit, a small flag allows the site to restore your remembered session. Firebase keeps its credentials in localStorage, falling back to sessionStorage or page memory if storage is blocked. Cloud progress and editorial data are cached only in memory. Google's own sign-in pages may use their own cookies and storage.
Use Sign Out in Your Account on a shared device. It removes this site's remembered credentials. Browser settings, cleared site data or expired access can also require you to sign in again.
The site no longer offers optional browser saving, so there is no Save on This Device prompt. Earlier saving choices do not enable it. We still explain the storage used for sign-in here. See the Data Protection Commission's guidance on storage notices.
Your Saved Data
Sign in to save progress between visits. Guest play stays in the open page and ends when you refresh or close it. Reading and keyboard preferences also last only for the current page.
Your Account shows your saving status and provides account downloads and removal controls. Use Sign Out there to forget your sign-in on this browser.
Recover Earlier Browser Work
Older versions could save guest progress, questions and drafts on this device. Those records remain untouched until you choose to recover, download or clear them here. They are not opened or uploaded automatically.
Download a recovery copy to keep the original records. Opening earlier work reads it into this page only. It does not change the saved original, replace your account progress or create ranked points.
Clear Browser Work
Remove earlier guest progress, drafts, questions, preferences and recovery copies from this browser at this website address, along with the current tab's temporary guest and editor work. Other open Society tabs receive a clear request. Account data, cloud editorial drafts and your remembered sign-in are kept.
Downloaded files and records in other browsers or at other website addresses are not removed.
Storage Inventory

The inventory distinguishes sign-in records, temporary coordination and records retained from older versions. An asterisk marks names with a variable ending. Earlier work records are only accessed for requested recovery, download or removal.
